Indications
Gastrointestinal, respiratory and urogenital infections, mastitis and panaritium caused by sulfadimidine sensitive micro-organisms, like Corynebacterium, E. coli, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Pasteurella, Salmonella and Streptococcus spp., in calves, cattle, goats, sheep and swine.
Administration and Dosage
For subcutaneous and intramuscular administration:
Calves, cattle, goats, sheep and swine: 3 – 6 ml per 10 kg body weight the first day, followed by 3 ml per 10 kg body weight on the following 2 – 5 days.
Side Effects
Hypersensitivity reactions.
Crystalluria, anaemie, leucopenia and thrombocytopenia.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in known cases of hypersensitivity to sulphonamides and in animals with severe liver damage or blood dyscrasias.
Precautions
During the application of sulfonamides, a large amount of water should be given to the affected animals to prevent the occurrence of crystalluria, and alkaline drugs such as sodium bicarbonate can be added if necessary. Watch for cross-sensitization reactions. In case of allergic reactions or other serious adverse reactions, discontinue the drug immediately and give symptomatic treatment.
Do not use together with iron and other metals.
