Gentamicin Sulfate………50000IU
Indications
Treat for gram-negative bacteria, positive bacteria and mycoplasma infections, especially the resistance to penicillin and sensitively bacterial infections, such as staphylococcus, streptococcus disease, mastitis, also can used for pig treponema diseases, etc.
Administration and Dosage
For intramuscular Injection
Swine: 0.25-0.5 ml/kg, one dose.
Dog and cat: 0.375-0.625 ml/kg, twice a day for 2 to 3 days
Adverse Reactions
1.Ototoxicity. It often causes otovestibular damage, which can be aggravated with continuous drug accumulation and is dose-dependent.
2.Occasionally allergic reactions. Cats are more sensitive and can cause nausea, vomiting, salivation and ataxia.
3.Large doses can cause neuromuscular conduction block. Accidental death often occurs in dogs and cats after general anesthesia for surgical operations and when penicillin is used to prevent infection.
4.Can lead to reversible nephrotoxicity.
Precautions
1.Gentamicin can be combined with P-lactam antibiotics to treat severe infections, but there is compatibility in vitro mixing, It’s forbidden.
2.Combined with penicillin, this product has a synergistic effect on streptococcus.
3.The combination with cephalosporin may enhance renal toxicity.
