Composition

Each ml contains:

Ofloxacin………..2mg

 

Indication

This product is indicated for the following infections in pets (dogs, cats, etc.) caused by susceptible bacteria:  

Respiratory tract infections: Bronchopneumonia, lobar pneumonia, etc.  

Urinary tract and reproductive system infections: Cystitis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, urethritis, etc.  

Gastrointestinal infections: Bacterial enteritis, etc.  

Skin and soft tissue infections: Wound infections, abscesses, cellulitis, etc.

Other: Systemic infections such as sepsis caused by susceptible bacteria.

 

Administration and Dosage

For intramuscular injection

Dogs, Cats: 2.5-5 mg/kg once daily for 3-5 days.

 

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in pets with a history of allergy to ofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics.  

It is contraindicated in young, growing dogs and cats (typically dogs under 8 months of age and cats under 12 months of age, especially large breed puppies).

Use with caution or avoid in pets with epilepsy or a history of epilepsy (as it may lower the seizure threshold).

Use with caution or adjust the dose in pets with severe renal insufficiency or severe hepatic insufficiency.

 

Adverse Reactions

Gastrointestinal reactions: Common, including vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, etc.  

Central nervous system reactions: Rarely observed, including mental depression, restlessness, convulsions (rare, more common at high doses or in cases of renal insufficiency).

Local reactions: Mild irritation, redness, or phlebitis may occur at the intravenous injection site (especially at high concentrations or rapid infusion rates).

Allergic reactions: Rarely reported include rash, itching, erythema, and edema; anaphylactic shock is extremely rare. If allergic symptoms occur, discontinue the medication immediately and seek medical attention.

Hepatic and renal effects: Long-term or high-dose use may have potential effects on hepatic and renal function; monitoring is required.

Cartilage damage in young animals: This product is contraindicated in young, growing dogs and cats (especially large breed puppies) as it may cause permanent cartilage damage in weight-bearing joints (osteoarthritis).
