(Super Antibacterial Agent)
Contains per ml:
Colistin sulphate 1 200 000 IU.
Enrofloxacin 100 mg.
Solvents ad 1 ml.
The combination of colistin and enrofloxacin acts additive. Enrofloxacin is a synthetic, broad spectrum antimicrobial substance, belonging to the fluoroquinoline group of antibiotics. Enrofloxacin is active against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and mycoplasmas. It is well absorbed after oral administration and rapidly excreted in the bile and urine, mostly as enrofloxacin and the metabolite ciprofloxacin. Colistin is an antibiotic from the group of polymyxins with bactericidal action against Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli, Haemophilus and Salmonella spp. It is absorbed poorly after oral administration and serum concentrations are generally undetectable in target species. Orally administered colistin is eliminated almost totally in faeces.
Coliflox Oral is indicated for gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infections caused by colistin and enrofloxacin sensitive micro-organisms like Campylobacter, E. coli, Haemophilus, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. in poultry and swine.
Cases of hypersensitivity to colistin and/or enrofloxacin or to any of the excipients.
Administration to animals with seriously impaired renal and/or hepatic functions.
Cases of resistance against quinolones and/or colistin.
Administration to poultry producing eggs for human consumption or in pregnant or lactating animals.
Administration of Coliflox Oral in subtherapeutic doses or for prevention.
All membes of the quinolone family of antibiotics have the ability to cause articular lesions in young animals.
Digestive alterations may appear, such as intestinal dysbiosis, accumulation of gases, mild diarrhoea or vommiting.
Side-effects for quinolones like rash and central nervous system disturbance may occur.
During a period of rapid growth, enrofloxacin may affect joint cartilage.

Positive test results don’t necessarily mean that heartworm treatments aren’t working. Dr. Jeff Werber (“Fox & Friends,” “Dr. Oz”) explains many of the reasons why. To learn more about heartworm disease, visit https://www.trifexis.com/about-parasites/about-heartworms/default.aspx.
Ask your veterinarian about Trifexis® (spinosad + milbemycin oxime), the 3-in-1 combination tablet that kills fleas and prevents infestations, prevents heartworm disease, and treats and controls hookworm, roundworm, and whipworm infections.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
See the full product label for complete safety information at https://www.elanco.us/labels/Companion-Animals/Trifexis.pdf.
Serious adverse reactions have been reported following concomitant extra-label use of ivermectin with spinosad, one of the components of Trifexis.
Treatment with fewer than three monthly doses after the last exposure to mosquitoes may not provide complete heartworm prevention. Prior to administration of Trifexis, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection.
Use with caution in dogs with pre-existing epilepsy. The most common adverse reactions reported are vomiting, depression, itching and decreased appetite.
To ensure heartworm prevention, observe your dog for one hour after administration. If vomiting occurs within an hour of administration, redose.

The introduction of spinosad for use in agriculture resulted in the receipt of a Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award in 1999 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The award was presented to Dow Agro Sciences LLC in the category of Designing Safer Chemicals for the introduction of spinosad as an insect control product for use on crops. This award demonstrates that spinosad, as a technology for insect control, has a favorable environmental profile. This award is not relevant to the safety and efficacy of Trifexis, nor does it confer any environmental benefit to Trifexis.
Your veterinarian is your best source of advice about your dog’s healthcare.
Your dog should be tested for heartworm infection before starting Trifexis.
To minimize the likelihood of fleas continuing to jump onto your dog, it is important to treat all household pets with an approved flea protection product.
If a dose is missed and a monthly interval between doses is exceeded, then immediately give Trifexis with food and resume monthly dosing. This will minimize the opportunity for heartworm infection. Also, continuing normal monthly dosing will allow you to gain control of any flea infestation or intestinal parasite infection that might have affected your dog. Trifexis should be administered at monthly intervals beginning within 1 month of the dog’s first seasonal exposure and continuing until at least 3 months after the dog’s last exposure to mosquitoes.
Trifexis is not for use in humans. Like all medications, keep Trifexis out of reach of children.
