This product is indicated in the treatment of diarrhea caused by giardia, coccidia, whipworms, roundworms or hookworms and Bacterial infections, including salmonella. Also it is used in treatment of trichomoniasis and anaerobic infections.
Administration and Dosage
For oral administration:
Dogs and cats: 25 mg/kg body weight once or twice daily for 5-7 days.
Rabbits: 25 mg/kg body weight once or twice daily for 3-5 days.
Birds: 1-2 ml mixed with 1 L of drinking water for 10 days.
Precaution
1. This product has little toxicity, and its metabolites often make urine reddish brown. When the dose is too large, it is easy to have light tongue, gastritis, nausea, vomiting, leucopenia and even neurological symptoms, but pets are well tolerated.
2. It can pass through placental barrier and breast barrier, not suitable for lactation and early pregnant animals.
